Six months later, this beer, which was sold only in Athens, was awarded the American Pale Ale Gold Medal at the 2002 Great American Beer Festival, the most prestigious competition in North America. FALL/WINTER 2009 TERRAPIN NEWS: New brews for the season include a delicious new Hopsecutioner IPA. Side Project Volume 9 debuts this December as a luxurious Belgian-style imperial stout. Big Hoppy Monster, a seasonal favorite and perennial member of Terrapin's Monster Beer rotation, clocks in this year as an 8.5% ABV imperial red ale loaded with caramel malt complexity. Also keep an eye peeled for the ever-popular Wake-N-Bake Coffee Oatmeal Imperial Stout - once again brewed with Jittery Joe's smooth, yet robust blend of Wake-N-Bake coffee beans that are available at all Jittery Joe's locations.
