Kacico Dance is presenting works with strong Georgia ties. Julie Rothschild, formerly a resident of Athens, has set a large work on the company entitled "Time imparts forward motion." Rothschild used recorded music by Hope for Agoldensummer, an Athens based band, for a portion of this work. And UGA professor of visual art, Michael Oliveri, collaborated with Kacico Dance in the contemporary dance ballet "Innerlying Landscapes." His nano-landscape photos of microscopic metals serve as the backdrop for the new work. The dance and images are set to Serenade for Strings by Tchaikovsky. Excerpts from two sections of the 30 minute work will be performed. |
