Gene Kelly stars as Gerry, an American expatriate painter in postwar Paris. Struggling to find success in both art and love, he meets and falls in love with Lise (Leslie Caron), who turns his life upside down. This lavish musical, with its gorgeous dance sequences and beautiful, frequently melancholic Gershwin score, won the Academy Award for best picture. Directed by Vincente Minnelli. (1951, NR, 113 min.)
