Athentic is thrilled to partner with Joy Village School for a celebration to honor Black History Month!
The evening will feature readings from Athens Poet Laureate Mikhayla Smith, with live music from Cardynal and the Flock. We will also be featuring artwork from Joy Village students, as well as additional taproom art from Broderick Flanigan.
Athentic will also have two new beers: Immortal, a chocolate stout, and Joy, a delicious crisp lager. Partial proceeds from both beers will go directly to Joy Village School. Crab and Soul will also be there with delicious food.
About Joy Village School:
Joy Village School is the only private school in Athens that centers Black joy and thriving. Research shows that giving children a strong sense of cultural identity at a young age has many long-term benefits. Building on that, the school is designed to be a learning environment of cultural safety and affirmation where Black children can learn and grow joyfully.
