The exhibition Distillations, composed of drawings on paper and wall-bound constructions, bring together the work of life-partners Johntimothy Pizzuto and Patti Roberts-Pizzuto, recent retirees from South Dakota who have made a new home together in Athens, GA. Compatriots in art as much as anything else, the two share a restrained palette and lightness of touch. Both artists contrast elegant, atmospheric fields of marks alongside crisp manufactured edges, using the formal implications of depth and flatness to explore ideas of memory and temporality.
