Essential Techniques for Aspiring Chefs
Teen chefs will step into the kitchen to learn the real skills professional cooks use every day. Over four sessions, students will build confidence through hands-on practice, learning the foundations that make great cooking possible in any cuisine. Open exclusively to teens ages 14-18. Students are welcome to register for any number of classes in the series (1-4).
Session 1: Knife Skills & Kitchen Safety
Every great chef starts with proper knife technique. Taught by Adam Head, MasterChef Alumni from Season 15, students will learn how to safely handle kitchen knives, practice essential cutting styles, and understand how different cuts affect cooking and presentation. They’ll also learn kitchen organization and safe workstation habits used in professional kitchens.
