Thaw Line is a photography exhibition that explores the natural world—both in its intimate details and vast landscapes—while examining humanity’s evolving relationship with it. Through black-and-white imagery, Josh Skinner captures scenes where human presence is implied rather than seen: an empty deer stand, a deserted construction site, trailers resting quietly in the woods. These subtle markers reflect the traces humanity leaves on the land, raising questions about our connection to the earth.
Lindsey Kennedy’s work, presented in a softly muted yet richly textured color palette, highlights nature’s elemental power. Her photographs depict blazing fires, frozen waterfalls, and the persistent spread of invasive plants, offering a quiet meditation on the tension between beauty and destruction. Together, the artists invite viewers to consider whether humanity will be consumed by nature, become one with it, or continue as the force behind its unraveling.
