Saturday, February 22: Light and Dark
Travel back to 17th-century Florence by exploring the exhibition “Beyond the Medici: The Haukohl Family Collection.” Discover the unique Florentine take on baroque art with Art Cart activities and a hands-on art project.
Saturday, March 22: Art of the Ordinary
The exhibition “The Awe of Ordinary Labors: 20th-Century Paintings From Ukraine” showcases the creative expression of Ukrainian painters working under the Soviet regime. Check out the exhibition with interactive gallery activities and then create a work of art to take home.
Saturday, April 19: Southern Vistas
The exhibition “Waffle House Vistas” invites us to remember to look up and recognize the beauty all around us. Artist Micah Cash took photographs focusing on landscapes of the South as seen through the windows of Waffle House restaurants. Families can explore Cash’s perspective alongside southern works of art from our collection with interactive Art Cart activities and an art project inspired by the exhibition.
Saturday, May 17
Discover the wonderful world of color within the museum’s permanent collection by playing fun gallery games and making a take-home art project in the Michael and Mary Erlanger Studio Classroom.
For those who cannot attend in person, Family Day To-Go Kits will be available for pick-up starting at 1 p.m. Saturday through the end of day Sunday, while supplies last.
Family Day is sponsored by Heyward Allen Cadillac-GMC-Toyota.
