Offering an elevated take on the usual neighborhood yard sale, Five & Ten will host a variety of local vendors including pottery, paintings, vintage goods, cookware and a selection of cookbook’s from Hugh’s personal collection.
Enjoy house-made Porchetta Sandwiches and ice cream or cool off with a local Athens Creature Comforts beer, who will be on site pouring their local brew.
Chef Hugh Acheson is the James Beard Award-winning chef and cookbook author based in Georgia who helms Athens, Georgia, restaurant Five & Ten, and the Atlanta restaurants Empire State South and Spiller Park Coffee. A 2019 James Beard Foundation Outstanding Restaurateur finalist, Hugh has competed in Bravo’s Top Chef Masters, Season 3 and starred as a judge on Top Chef, Seasons 9 -13. He is also the founder of the non-profit organization, Seed Life Skills, a living, multimedia curriculum built to serve the needs of the modern Family & Consumer Sciences. In October 2019, Hugh will release his next cookbook, Sous Vide: Better Home, Better Kitchen.
Five & Ten is Hugh's first restaurant in Athens, offering an open interpretation of Southern food, melding Georgia cookery with French and Italian influences.
