Join the Hargrett Library for the induction of Frances Mayes into the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame and enjoy a taste of Tuscany on Saturday, October 28, 2023 in room 285 of the Special Collections Libraries.
The evening begins with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, featuring cannellini & sage crostini and pea & shallot crostini.
Guests will then sit down for a plated dinner featuring a caprese salad followed by a dinner of chicken thighs with artichokes, sun dried tomatoes and chickpeas accompanied by roasted vegetables and roasted potatoes, or a vegetarian option of eggplant parmigiana, followed by dessert of gelato with lemon cake. All recipes are from Mayes' cookbook The Tuscan Sun Cookbook: Recipes from our Italian Kitchen. After desert, Southern Living Editorial Producer Ivy Odom Aponte will introduce Mayes who will talk about her writing life.
Tickets for the event are $60 per person and proceeds for the event support student internships and experiential learning opportunities in the UGA Libraries. Purchase your ticket by October 18th.
