Piedmont Athens Regional is bringing the Derby to Downtown Athens with the 2025 Mint Jubilee on Saturday, May 3, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m! This immersive Derby Day experience will feature seersucker suits, fascinators, mint juleps, a live viewing of the race, and much more. Guests will even have the opportunity to "bet" on their favorite horse.
Attendees are encouraged to dress as if they were at Churchill Downs, showcasing their biggest hats, brightest bowties, and most festive suits. This is a dress-to-impress occasion, with exciting prizes awarded for the best fascinator and bow tie.
Guests should be sure to dust off their dancin’ shoes, as the evening’s festivities will kick off with a performance by the Hibbs Family Band, an Athens-based quartet blending bluegrass, folk, and alt-rock. Following the 151st renewal of The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports, the celebration will continue with live music from the renowned party band, The Swingin’ Medallions.
Tickets are $75.00 and include food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and entertainment from both bands. Guests will also be entered into a drawing for local prizes, including tickets to UGA sporting events, 2025-2026 Rock Lobsters games and merchandise, a custom floral arrangement from Brett Glenn Floral Design, and more. A Kentucky-themed meal will be served at no additional charge, and Cafe Racer will be on-site with food available for purchase.
Proceeds from Mint Jubilee support Piedmont Athens Regional’s Unrestricted Gifts Fund, helping to fund equipment purchases, program investments, and other needs as they arise.
