Martin Luther King Jr. stated, “We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” This event is designed to celebrate justice and equality, stimulate culture and diversity, and encourage citizens to stand in solidarity.

Following the MLK Day Parade we will honor local community leaders, local citizens can enjoy MLK Day Festivities that include guest speakers, live performances, food vendors (Soul, Caribbean, Latin, Asian) and much more. This is a walking/marching parade, no-motorized vehicle allowed, each organization/group must have a banner and positive signage. Produced by U.G.A. Live Event Production and Management Company Proceeds will be donated to Athens-Anti-Discrimination Movement.

The parade begins at 3 pm, followed by an honoree ceremony to African American elders who paved the way for us.
Festivities begin 4:00

  • Athens MLK Hip Hop-World Famous
  • Family and Teen Talent Show-Little Kings
  • Honoring our elders-Athens African American Folktale-Manhattan
