Led by teaching artist Kristen Ashley, this class will explore the use of typography and hand-written text in visual art. Using various artists and styles as our guides, we’ll draw, paint, print, and scribble: creating letterforms to compose our message. With an emphasis on traditional methods and crafts, we’ll blur the lines between fine art, calligraphy and graphic design. The cost of the course is a $15 materials fee, which will cover all necessary supplies for the four sessions (May 2, 9, 16 and 23). Space is limited; call 706.543.0111 or email callan@uga.edu to register.
