Join teaching artist Amanda Jane Burk for a half-day printmaking workshop. Participants will learn to create prints using the traditional printmaking technique of relief carving. Individuals will design and carve a stamp of their own and use the stamp to print a set of notecards in class. The workshop will take inspiration from works in the Georgia Museum of Art’s print collection and the exhibition “Southern/Modern.” The cost of the course is a $15 materials fee. Amanda Jane Burk is a printmaker in Athens, Georgia. She uses traditional forms of printmaking (intaglio, relief, screen printing and lithography) in her work, often alongside hand-drawn or painted elements. Burk teaches printmaking at the college level as well as print classes at her printmaking studio, Flat File Print Shop, which is open to the public. She is the in-house printmaker for the Lyndon House Arts Center’s annual artist print series. She was a co-owner/operator of Double Dutch Press from 2012 to 2016.
