Takács Quartet

“Arguably the greatest string quartet in the world.” – Guardian

This Grammy Award-winning string quartet has been playing critically acclaimed interpretations of music from the chamber music canon for 44 years. They regularly perform at the world’s most prestigious concert halls and have collaborated with luminaries including Meryl Streep, Marc-André Hamelin, Anthony McGill, and many more. Formed in Budapest in 1975 and based at the University of Colorado in Boulder since 1983, the ensemble is a longtime associate artist of London’s Wigmore Hall and returns to Athens after a twelve year absence.
