About The SteelDrivers
The SteelDrivers, a bluegrass band from Nashville, got their start in 2008, signing with Rounder Records and featuring new lead singer, Chris Stapleton. Other current band members include fiddler Tammy Rogers, bassist Mike Fleming, guitarist Gary Nichols, mandolinist Brent Truitt and banjoist Richard Baiely. Their first self-titled debut album peaked at No. 57 on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Album chart. The group was nominated for a Grammy Award® in 2009 for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for their song “Blue Side of the Mountain.” The group received two more nominations in 2010 for its second album, Reckless. Stapleton eventually left the group in 2010, being replaced by former Mercury Records artist Gary Nichols on lead vocals and guitar, and founding member Mike Henderson left the following year. Henderson was replaced by Nashville musician and record producer Brent Truitt. In 2015, The SteelDrivers received a Best Bluegrass Album Grammy Award® for its album, The Muscle Shoals Recordings.
