In 2022, first year head coach Keidane McAlpine and his staff sparked a turnaround that resulted in Georgia's first trip to the semifinals of the SEC tournament since 2010 and the program's first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 2014. The Bulldogs got in as a No. 7 seed and earned the right to host their first NCAA tournament game since 2007, beating Samford in the opening round for the program's first NCAA tourney win since 2011.
