Located in downtown Athens, Georgia, inside the c.1820 Church-Waddel-Brumby House Museum, the Athens Welcome Center is an excellent resource and first stop for visitors. You'll step back in time, find local gifts, and can even take a guided or self-guided tour of Athens. Of course, they also welcome locals who are hosting out of town guests.

In addition to local information, there are brochures for the entire state, so stop by if you are planning a trip anywhere throughout Georgia.

HOUSE MUSEUM:
The Church-Waddel-Brumby House is one of Athens' four house museums. This Federal-style house, ca. 1820, is believed to be the city's oldest surviving residence. Its rescue from demolition and restoration in the early 1970s as a welcome center sparked the historic preservation movement in Athens.
CLASSIC CITY TOURS:
The Welcome Center is also home to Classic City Tours, which provides a full range of tour and transportation services for individuals and groups. Set out on your own with one of six self-guided tours, take a guided Heritage Tour by bus, or schedule a customized tour tailored to your specific interests.
