Slater's Steakhouse

Jerry and Krista Slater (of The Expat) opened this upscale steakhouse in the Five Points neighborhood in late 2022. Athens regulars will recognize the location as the original Five & Ten restaurant. Owner Krista Slater says,

“It is a special, historic building, and we hope to do well by it, creating a cozy spot to enjoy steaks, martinis and much more.”  -Flagpole Grub Notes, Hillary Brown, Aug. 24, 2022

Jerry Slater tells the Red & Black, “We're looking [to create] the classic American Steakhouse. We find [that] a lot of diverse groups of people all kind of want the same retro fun thing, like a cold martini or wedge salad. You can pick your choice of steak but then have all of the sides, [like] potatoes in four different ways.” (September 28, 2022)

The restaurant does accept reservations and is a great choice for a nice night out for those who like to dress up.
