Zoës Kitchen, a popular, Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant featuring fresh, wholesome dishes, opened its eighth location in Georgia on August 1, 2013. Zoës’ new restaurant in Athens marks the company’s 89th location reaching 15 states nationwide. Founded in 1995 in Birmingham, Alabama, by Zoë Cassimus, Zoës features quality ingredients, family recipes and a variety of menu items that are made from scratch daily.
Zoës’ Athens location seats approximately 68 guests in the dining room, including an outdoor patio which seats 24. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The new location also plans to offer beer and wine.
The new Athens restaurant features the flavors of the Mediterranean, as well as a few Southern favorites that became a staple at the first location in Birmingham and have since made Zoës an extension of many home kitchens. The menu will showcase entrees such as salads, pitas, sandwiches, and kabobs in addition to fresh sides like no-mayo slaw, potato salads, and braised white beans with fresh rosemary, among others. The freshly prepared sides are available in to-go pints called Fresh Take ™ tubs. Signature dishes such as chicken kabobs, chicken rollups and hummus and the restaurant’s gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options feature an abundance of fresh vegetables and herbs, lean proteins and flavor! Zoës is committed to serving food of exceptional quality and using fresh ingredients prepared daily from original recipes – perfect for folks that value eating real, unprocessed foods but whose busy lives limit their time in the kitchen. There are no fryers or microwaves at Zoës which is just one reason guests feel great after eating there. At Zoës, guests can dine in, order online or call ahead for takeout. Also available for purchase are a variety of fully-prepared Dinners for Four for the hungry family on the go and Fresh Take tubs by the pint. Zoës’ extensive catering menu includes box lunches, party trays and hot meals for any business occasion or social gathering that can be delivered locally.
