Growing on an old ball field on the former Rutland School grounds, farmers from the neighborhood surrounding the garden and employees of the Athens Land Trust host two weekly markets of fresh vegetables and flowers. Held the first Saturday of the month and every Tuesday, from May to December, the West Broad Farmers Market features locally produced fruits, veggies, meat, dairy, baked goods, and crafts. Each market will feature gardening workshops, health assessments, performances and more. EBT holders receive half-off on staple foods.
