Growing on an old ball field at the historic West Broad Street School, farmers from the neighborhood surrounding the garden and employees of the Athens Land Trust host a weekly farmers market of fresh vegetables and flowers. Held every Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM from May to December, the West Broad Farmers Market features locally produced fruits, veggies, meat, dairy, baked goods, gourmet foods, and artisan wares. Each market features events such as gardening workshops, cooking demos, performances and more. EBT holders receive half-off on staple foods.
