What’s in Season
Athens GA is ripe for a visit by anyone who enjoys seasonal food, locally sourced menus, farmers markets, and all the best each season has to offer.
Athens is privileged to have a number of markets featuring the best in local vegetables, meat, bread, dairy, health & beauty and household products. As with most events in Athens, you’ll likely see a healthy dose of live music and visual artists, too.
- The largest and oldest, Athens Farmers Market, is at Bishop Park every Saturday morning and downtown each Wednesday afternoon from April through early December.
- The West Broad Farmers Market makes use of old school ground fields for growing and selling, held the first Saturday of the month and every Tuesday, from May to December.
- A new Market was added in 2015, the Sunday Center Market, downtown behind The Classic Center in the new 400 Foundry Pavilion. Sunday Center Market has become a true Sunday afternoon gathering spot for families from May into October, with fun activities in addition to arts and foodstuffs.
