Social Media Community Guidelines

Athens, Georgia, is a fun place! We want the @VisitAthensGA online community to be just as enjoyable, for everyone. We invite Athens residents, our college students, folks who are looking for a great destination to visit and anyone looking to find out more about Athens to be part of our social community. 

Kindness for the Win:

Our goal at @VisitAthensGA is to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but be kind: do not personally attack your fellow commenter during a disagreement.

Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying, cursing and harassment of any kind is not allowed, and degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will be deleted.

Spam-Free Zone:

Our social media channels are not the place for self-promotion, spam, or posts for political gain. We are focused on things to do in Athens-Clarke County. Posts that do not fit within the purpose of our channel will be hidden or deleted.

VisitAthensGA reserves the right to ban any user from our page without prior written notice or consent for violations of community policies.
