  • Georgia Theatre: Though the space that houses this historic venue was built in the late 1800s, the site as it’s known today is the result of renovations following a 2009 fire. • Akins Ford Arena: Newly opened in late 2024, the Akins Ford Arena is Athens' largest music venue, with a capacity of about 8,000 people. With acts like Megan Moroney, Cole Swindell, and Bailey Zimmerman making a splash with fans, keep an eye on the upcoming lineup!
  • Morton Theatre: Opened in 1910, The Morton Theatre is one of the first, and the oldest surviving vaudeville theatre in the United States, uniquely built, owned, and operated by an African-American. Restored in 1987, the theatre now acts as a community performing arts space hosting live theatre, music concerts, dance concerts, and more on the historic property.
  • Flicker Theatre & Bar: This cozy space blends dive bar energy with comfy seating, offering intimate performances, plus the occasional film screening or comedy show.
  • Live Wire Athens: With a capacity of 330, the industrial space of Live Wire Athens is big enough for party energy without being overwhelming. Check out the events hosted by the venue or rent the space out for yourself!
  • Hendershot's: Coffee bar by day, venue and bar by night, Hendershot's has a silky atmosphere with exposed brick, dim lighting, and a small stage that plays host to music of all types, drag queens, comedians, and more. With a commitment to sustainability and new ownership as of early 2026, Hendershot's is an Athens staple.
  • Nowhere Bar: Named one of The South's Most Legendary Dive Bars by Southern Living in 2024 and 2025, Nowhere Bar is a hole in the wall hot spot for locals and visitors alike. Come for a jazz or country music night, or slip in almost any night of the week for a sampling of local sound.
