Athens CVB Director
Due to CVB Director Chuck Jones' upcoming promotion to Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Outreach of The Classic Center, the Athens CVB Director position will be open to applicants.
The Athens CVB Director is to manage the Convention and Visitors Bureau in accordance with the guidelines established by The Classic Center’s Authority President; the Classic Center VP of Sales, Marketing, and Outreach; and its Policies and Procedures. This position will report directly to the VP of Sales, Marketing, and Outreach. The primary responsibilities are to carry out the goals and objectives established in the program of work, organize all available resources, provide clear direction to the staff, enforce policy, recommend strategic changes (including product development), effectively promote Athens (including a consistent brand), maintain budget guidelines, continue to research new prospects, and oversee the coordination of Athens’ resources/partners to reap
the maximum benefits for the meetings and conventions, sports tourism, and leisure tourism markets.

Digital Marketing & Communications Intern
Hours: 10 hours/week
One position filled each semester
$10 per hour
Seeking Athens' biggest fans to apply to promote the city to visitors. The Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is the official tourism marketing organization for Athens-Clarke County and is searching for a Digital Marketing & Communications intern.
This multi-faceted internship will provide real-world experience with B2C use of social media and email marketing, as well as creating owned content such as blog articles. All blog articles and press releases authored will include the student's byline-- great opportunity to develop a professional portfolio!
Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in any press visits scheduled during the internship period.
The CVB markets Athens as a destination for leisure travel, meetings & conventions. We play a key role in economic development, as we draw visitor dollars to a wide segment of local businesses.

All majors considered, Sophomore-Senior year.
