Destination Services Manager (FT)
The Destination Services Manager is responsible for managing the Housing Services program utilizing Passkey by CVENT. This role ensures the seamless execution of housing blocks for conventions, conferences, and sporting events, consolidating the booking process into one unified website experience for event attendees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service and operational management, demonstrating an ability to work closely with event planners and internal teams to provide exceptional service and support. This position reports to the Director of Sales.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Housing Services Management:
- Oversee the coordination and execution of the housing booking website using Passkey by CVENT.
- Collaborate with meeting and event planners to customize housing services based on their event needs.
- Provide attendee booking support and serve as a backup for customer service, ensuring a smooth experience for event attendees.
- Event Support & Coordination:
- Work with planners to identify and offer appropriate destination services, such as group tours, activities, and transportation arrangements.
- Build group itineraries tailored to the interests and needs of event attendees.
- Coordinate the citywide welcome program, including event banners, welcome materials, and welcome bags, to enhance the visitor experience.
- Proactive Sales & Collaboration:
- Actively source and pursue housing services prospects in Athens to grow the program and maximize its impact.
- Work closely with the Visit Athens GA Sales Team and The Classic Center Sales Team to align efforts and ensure successful event execution.
- Community Engagement & Show-Your-Badge Program:
- Engage with local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, shops, and attractions, to promote economic impact through destination services.
- Coordinate the Show-Your-Badge program by recruiting and signing up local businesses to offer exclusive deals and promotions to event attendees.
- Maintain strong partnerships within the Athens community to continuously enhance event offerings and drive visitor engagement with local businesses.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in event coordination, hospitality, or a similar field.
- Familiarity with Passkey by CVENT or other housing management systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Proactive and collaborative approach to working with internal teams and external clients.

Digital Marketing & Communications Intern

This multi-faceted internship will provide real-world experience with B2C use of social media and email marketing, as well as creating owned content such as blog articles. All blog articles and press releases authored will include the student's byline-- great opportunity to develop a professional portfolio!

Restaurant Week Event Planning Intern

Athens Restaurant Week is returning this July! Visit Athens, the official tourism marketing organization for Athens-Clarke County, collaborates with participating restaurants to organize and promote this event.
The intern will assist the CVB's marketing & communications team with activating this community-wide event, including:
- Recruiting restaurants to participate (at no cost to the restaurant).
- Obtaining restaurant week menus and photo-video assets from participants.
- Ensuring that all information and assets from participating restaurants is accurately and completely reflected in a CRM database for display on the front-facing event website.
- Assisting with development of promotional materials.
- Assisting with social media leading up to and during the event.
- Assisting with media relations to secure coverage of the event.
Seeking a reliable self-starter with great attention to detail and creative flair. This internship is a great opportunity for students interested in event planning and management in addition to marketing and content creation.
