Visit Athens GA is celebrating unique flavors and authentic culinary experiences with its third-annual Athens Restaurant Week July 10-16, 2023. The week-long event will offer prix-fixe menus and special savings from the destination’s best dining venues.

“Athens Restaurant Week is a celebration of our community and the creativity of our restaurants,” said Katie Williams, Director of the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Always open for new experiences, Athens’ restaurant scene is full of diverse, unique flavors and we couldn’t be more excited to share them with both locals and visitors!”

Participating restaurants will offer various prix-fixe menus for lunch and dinner at special prices all week long. Lunch specials will feature two courses priced at $12 or $15, and dinner specials will offer the option of a two-course menu for $25 or a three-course menu for $35. Local breweries and dessert shops will also offer beer flights for $10 and sweet treats for just $5.

Located 60 miles northeast of Atlanta, Athens has emerged as one of the most underrated culinary destinations today. Since James Beard winner Hugh Acheson put Athens on the culinary map, the city has become a playground for food lovers with independent restaurants, acclaimed breweries and chefs bringing fresh concepts to discover each year. Many of these notable restaurants will be featured at this year’s Athens Restaurant Week, including new hot spots Puma Yu’s and Slater’s Steakhouse, as well as local favorites such as Big City Bread Café, The Expat, Mama’s Boy, The National, Rashe’s Cuisine and The Café on Lumpkin.

In addition to the Classic City’s delicious restaurants, Athens is known for its award-winning craft beer scene. Last fall, Visit Athens launched the Athens Beer Trolley Tour as an extension of its popular Athens Beer Trail. The hop-on-hop-off trolley takes visitors to the Athens’ six breweries, including Athentic Brewing, Normaltown Brewing Company and Southern Brewing Company which are participating in Athens Restaurant Week.
