Donderos' Kitchen is a locally-owned business on the north end of Athens' Milledge Avenue that serves international food prepared from scratch daily. It also is a catering business that has served meetings and wedding receptions at the Garden. They open on Tuesday, November 29th with a menu that includes coffee drinks, housemade chai and hot chocolate, scones, muffins, sandwiches, quiche, salads, soups, snacks and more, including vegan choices.

Director Wilf Nicholls discussed the many changes that took place this year inside the conservatory. "We have moved the café upstairs and added an art exhibit area and seating in the great room, so that it is a much more active part of the garden." The gift shop has expanded and moved to the front lobby and now includes a reading room and a large assortment of hand-made and locally made items.

Nicholls said "we look forward to our Holiday Open House on December 4th, when we will be showing off these updates to hundreds of visitors." Santa and Mrs. Claus, puppet shows and performances by the Georgia Children's Chorus, Solstice Sisters and the Classic City Band will be among holiday decorations created by the Garden's horticulture staff that afternoon. Anna added, "we are excited to ring in the holiday season by being part of the Botanical Garden's Holiday Open House."

Donderos' Kitchen at The State Botanical Garden, 2450 South Milledge, will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays 10:00 am - 4:00 pm and Sundays 11:30 am - 4:00 pm and, like the Garden, will be closed for all UGA holidays.
