(April 27, 2016) – has been selected as a winner for “Outstanding Website” in the travel category of the 2016 Internet Advertising Competition sponsored by the Web Marketing Association. is one of five destination marketing organizations’ websites that made the cut and is the only winner located in the eastern U.S. region. 

The website was completely redesigned and launched in October 2015 to give it the fresh and functional feel that users have come to expect. The website was created by Simpleview, a tourism industry leader with over 350 CVB clients, with the user experience in mind. Content, imagery and navigation are designed to be inspirational by providing ideas for Athens experiences. also offers Responsive Web Design (RWD), which automatically adjusts content for an optimal viewing and interaction experience across a wide range of devices, including desktop, tablet and mobile phone.

The Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards were developed by the Web Marketing Association to honor excellence in online advertising, recognize the individuals and organizations responsible for creating work, and showcasing the award winning Internet advertising.
