Announcing the 12th Annual Wild Rumpus Halloween Celebration. All are invited to participate in the Wild Rumpus Parade Event by dressing in costume and marching on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31.

Location: literally anywhere.

Given the impossibility of a parade in downtown Athens because of the pandemic, and given that the beloved Halloween tradition of Trick-or-Treating door-to-door will be dramatically limited by social distancing, The Wild Rumpus proposes a creative solution for people who want to express their Wild Rumpus Parade spirit, and for families who are looking for a fun and SAFE Halloween outlet instead of Trick-or-Treating.

Normally a massive parade and celebration in Downtown Athens, the Wild Rumpus this year will be dispersed and socially distanced. We invite participants to parade in safe, small groups like family and friend pods that live together, couples, and singles. (YES you can have a parade of ONE! Let's get creative, people!!)

People may follow social and physical distancing guidelines to safely parade in

  • Your own homes

  • Front or back yards

  • Neighborhoods

  • Nature (back to basics Wild Rumpus, anyone?)

This year, the Wild Rumpus experience will be under the stars and a glorious Oct. 31 FULL MOON, in the Autumn breeze, wherever you are.


SCHEDULE:

  • 7 PM:   Wild Rumpus Halloween Holiday "TV Special" airs on social networks
  • 7:30 PM: The Wild Rumpus Parade marches
  • Post-Parade: Share photos and videos on Wild Rumpus channels and social networks
  • TBA:  Wild Rumpus Auction Fundraiser

Proceeds from the Wild Rumpus event benefit Non-Profit Partner, Athens Food2Kids, part of Northeast Georgia Food Bank, aiding their mission "to provide weekend meal bags to over 1,500 students per week identified by teachers and school counselors as chronically hungry. These bags
contain six meals and healthy snacks and are delivered directly to students at school by volunteers."
