Aside from the bountiful events revolving around Twilight, including the Athens Americana Festival, there are also plenty of other exciting activities happening in Athens. The 35th annual Athens Twilight weekend is a professional cycling event and festival fun for fans, families, and racers. Friday's kickoff features music, an expo and food court, and the Grid Qualifiers as riders battle for coveted starting places. Saturday night is the main event: The Twilight Criterium. Over 30,000 fans pack downtown Athens each year to witness the best in American criterium racing.
