It's a big weekend in Athens, Georgia! The football team is back between the hedges with their second home game of the season against Troy. The Ice Dawgs kick off their season on Saturday against the Florida Gators. Mamma Mia takes the stage Sunday at 7 p.m. And lastly, the Classic Center ice skating rink returns on Sunday for the 2014 season!

The Georgia Bulldogs take on Troy in their second home game of the 2014 season.
The entire town takes on a celebratory feel during Football Gamedays in Athens. Approximately two hours before each home game, the Bulldogs are greeted and fired up by thousands of Georgia fans and the Redcoat Marching band as they unload on Lumpkin Street and walk through the Tate Center Parking lot and in to Sanford Stadium.

UGA Hockey: Georgia Ice Dawgs vs. Florida 

Sunday, 1:30 p.m.

The Classic Center in downtown Athens is the new home of the UGA Ice Dawgs hockey team. Come cheer on the Ice Dawgs as they face off against the University of Florida this weekend.

Athens on Ice: Public Ice Skating 

September - December

The Classic Center in downtown Athens will be offering public ice skating sessions in its new arena beginning Sunday, Sept. 21 and continuing through December.
Tickets are $12 each and on sale now. The price includes admission and skate rental.
There is no discount if you bring your own skates, and patrons don't have to pay admission if they are not skating.

Mamma Mia! 

Sunday, 7 p.m.

"Mamma Mia!," the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, returns to The Classic Center Theatre Sunday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. The performance is the first in The Classic Center Theatre's 2014-2015 Broadway Entertainment Series. Tickets are on sale now, and range from $20 to $70. "Mamma Mia!" last played at The Classic Center Theatre in March 2011.

108 Sun Salutation Festival 

Sunday, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
