This turkey season we're thankful for the many Athens' restaurants willing to whip up Thanksgiving meals, sides and sweets. Here's a few places to check out:
Lindsey's Culinary Market
Roasted turkey, homemade green bean casserole, roasted Autumn vegetables, chocolate cobbler and more - Lindsey's Culinary Market's Thanksgiving Menu has got you covered. Thanksgiving meals can be picked at Lindsey's Culinary Market up on Nov. 26 during normal business hours or Nov. 27 until 1 p.m.
Starting Nov. 4, home.made will have Thanksgiving sides available for order on their online shop. Sides include tomato pie, onion pie, mac and cheese, and roasted fall vegetables with fresh herbs and pecans. Orders must be placed by Saturday, Nov. 23.
Donderos' Kitchen is taking orders for roasted whole turkey and a wide array of sides and baked goods until Friday, Nov. 22. Birds must be ordered by Thursday, Nov. 21. Stop in, call or email Donderos' to place your order.
Kiki's Bakeshop is stocked with pies (golden apple, pumpkin, bourbon pecan, chocolate pecan, kiki's key lime, and peach cobbler), cakes (pumpkin cheesecake, chocolate, and carrot), quiches (white cheddar honey ham, apple smoked bacon + cheddar, and baby spinach portobello mushroom + swiss), biscuit and rolls all available for pickup. Orders must be placed by Nov. 23 at noon, but extra baked goods will be available for those who do not place an order.
Mama Jewel's Kitchen
Mama Jewel's Kitchen will prepare Thanksgiving casseroles, sides, desserts and breads. Orders must be placed by 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 and picked up by 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27. Call 706-850-9797 to order and schedule pick up.
Heirloom Cafe will be hosting their annual Thanksgiving Farmers Market on Wednesday, Nov. 27, providing you with the opportunity to pick up any last minute provisions you might need before Turkey Day! Starting at 11 a.m. and running until 2 p.m., stop by their Chase Street location and visit your favorite local vendors selling produce, gourmet cheeses and breads, and much more. Come stock up on fresh, delicious staples that will not only impress family and friends but will also minimize effort and mess in the kitchen!
Heirloom Café will also host its 2nd Tuesday Wine Tasting on Nov.12 at 6 p.m. An array of wines have been selected for you to pair with your holiday meal. Come out to the wine tasting and find the perfect wine for your holiday feast.
Leave the cooking and cleaning at home this Thanksgiving and come spend the holiday at the FIVE Bar Thanksgiving Charity Feast! Enjoy their full Thanksgiving Feast free of charge on Nov. 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. While donations are not required to partake in the feast, all proceeds from the evening will benefit Project Safe, an Athens-area organization working to end domestic violence through everything from prevention and educational programs to a vast network of safe houses.
Redfearn Grille will offer a traditional southern Thanksgiving lunch with side salads and two large dessert stations on Thanksgiving day. The meal will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 706-549-4433 ext. 6431 to make a reservation.
