Did you know? Thor's favorite beer comes from Athens, Georgia! We know that true Avengers fans will want to head to Creature Comforts Brewing Co. right in downtown Athens, which just celebrated their fifth anniversary. And what a long way they've come in just five years, from craft beer start-up to hitting the big screen in front of record-breaking audiences!
From Athens start-up to the Big Screen, and the "infamous" ATL Tropicalia Shortage
How the heck did this happen? Athenians knew Creature Comforts was brewing up something special from the very beginning, and it didn't take long before word spread to Atlanta, setting off an "infamous" Tropicalia shortage in the state's capital city. Atlantans took to staking out package stores and following Creature Comforts delivery trucks to ensure they were first in line to grab the limited supplies of the uber-popular IPA. Tropicalia fans included some of the Avengers production staff, and the shortage phenomenon struck their fancy. The rest, as they say, is history.
Creature Comforts fans first spotted the distinctive Athena can in the Avengers: End Game trailer. They were even more thrilled to see Tropicalia in the film itself. The little brewery that could, definitely made an impression on not just the Avengers production staff, but others in the film and the craft beer industry. A bit of what they're saying:
