Automatic Pizza
Take a step into the past and into pizza heaven at Automatic Pizza. Located on Prince Ave, this place has a killer retro vibe and, more importantly, fantastic pizza. You have the power in your hands to build your perfect pie with any topping combo you can dream up, or try one of their signature specialties if you prefer the pros to take the wheel. Looking for more than just pizza? They’ve got you covered with salads, subs, and yes, cannolis!
Peppinos Pizzeria
Peppinos Pizzeria, located on Whitehall Road, is a local favorite that greets you with a truly cozy Italian vibe, making it the perfect casual sport for any meal. Pepino’s offers customizable options allowing you to choose between thick or thin crust, grab a quick slice or a whole pizza, and either pick one of Pepino’s best signature recipes or build your own masterpiece. If you’re dropping by for lunch, you’re in luck, they offer great lunch deals Tuesday through Friday! And while pizza is the star, you won’t want to overlook the full menu which includes satisfying opinions like hot or cold subs, stromboli, pasta dishes, salads, garlic bread and fries. Little Italy
When those late-night cravings hit downtown, there’s only one place to go: Little Italy. This Athens staple is located right in downtown Athens. It’s well known as the essential late-night spot. It stays open until 3 AM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturday nights (and closes at a still-late 2 AM on other nights!) Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or feeding a crowd, they make it easy. Choose between thick or thin crust, and grab a fast pizza by the slice or a whole pizza to share. Ted's Most Best
For a true Athens pizza experience, you need to visit Ted’s Most Best on West Washington Street in the heart of downtown. Ted’s Most Best, named in honor of the late Grit owner Ted Hafer, opened in the summer of 2011 after a fascinating transformation. The renovated space was previously a tire storage garage, and a local contractor Michael Songster did an amazing job creating a vibrant, modern spot. Be sure to check out the spacious outside patio and the bocce ball court, which is perfect for a sunny afternoon. They specialize in delicious personal size pizzas, perfect for an individual meal. You can either build your own creation or choose from their wide variety of house specialty pizzas. And if you’re looking beyond pie, they offer great options like pasta, salads, sandwiches, and sliders!
Fully Loaded
The name says it all: they are fully loaded with options! You can go wild and build your own pizza from scratch, or choose one of their many specialty pizzas if you need a little direction. No matter how hungry you are, they’ve got you covered: order by the slice, get an individual pizza, or grab a traditional small, medium, or large. Plus, they happily offer gluten-free and cauliflower crusts upon request! Beyond the pies, their menu has a selection of appetizers, salads, wings, tenders, hoagies and some pasta options. Both Athens locations, Five-Points and Normaltown, have outdoor seating, which makes for a perfect relaxing spot to people-watch while you enjoy your meal.
