Athens Popfest isn’t just one more multi-day event full of bands and crowds. It is an annual gathering of curious music fans, artists, travelers, and locals. People fall in love (2007 saw an onstage marriage proposal), bands get discovered, memories are made. All of it here in Athens.
We knew Guided by Voiceswere playing and they’ve now announced the full lineup which also includes The Mummies, Ex Hex, Man or Astroman?, Dean Wareham, His Name Is Alive, Essex Green, Elf Power, Oh OK (the early ’80s band co-fronted Michael Stipe’s sister, Linda), Flasher, and more.
