Anyone who has driven through the South Milledge Avenue historic district of Athens has marveled at the expansive mansions lining the street along the University of Georgia’s “Greek Row.”
Once a year, on the first Sunday of December (December 2, 2018), the UGA sororities (and some fraternities) open their homes for a public tour during the Classic City Tour of Homes. Holiday decorations are on full display, and many homes will also offer refreshments and vendors with gift items for sale.
This annual event is a much-beloved time for girlfriends, mothers and daughters, and couples to stroll down Milledge and enjoy these lovely homes. All proceeds benefit UGA Miracle, which supports Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
The annual Classic City Tour of Homes, benefiting UGA Miracle People from all over the state gather together in Athens for this special event, as they tour the sorority and fraternity houses at the University of Georgia.
This is the only time of year that these million dollar mansions open up their holiday-decorated houses for everyone to see! There will be vendors located at each house so you can do some holiday shopping! All proceeds go to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta!
There will be busses picking up people from Tate (where parking is free in the Tate Parking Deck) and people are also welcome to park at the Varsity and walk.
There is no start point, you may begin the tour at any of the homes.
Parking is available at the Varsity located at the intersection of Broad Street and Milledge Avenue.
