Charles Pinckney Designs

Charles Pinckney is a local Athens metalsmith working in jewelry and metal sculpture. He uses sterling, forged titanium and other metals, semi-precious stones, conceptual design, texture and movement in his work. His work is hand-fabricated and narrative, springing from personal history. It aims to portray in metal, semi-precious stones, bone, and found objects the non-tangible essence of emotional and personal human connections. Techniques include piercing, forging, fusing, hot and cold joins, mokume-gane, laminations, granulations, inlay and metal carving. Every part of a piece that I design contributes to the function and aesthetic intrigue of the piece. Many of my pieces are articulated for movement.

To purchase existing work seen on the website or at an art festival, contact the artist for availability. Charles Pinckney travels to 15 to 20 art festivals a year. All of his jewelry and sculptural pieces, except for earrings, are numbered or named one-of-a-kind pieces.
