Coming Soon! Center for Racial Justice and Black Futures
- 300 N Thomas St, Athens, GA 30601
The Center for Racial Justice and Black Futures (CRJBF) is dedicated to uncovering and sharing the rich tapestry of Black history and culture, instilling hope through our past, and actively pursuing racial justice. The Center strives to be a beacon of knowledge and enlightenment, fostering a community deeply rooted in truth, empowering hope, and envisioning a future where Black heritage is a cornerstone of societal progress and understanding.
When open in late 2026, CRJBF will become Athens’ first dedicated African American history center. The Center was formally introduced during Launching the Vision: A First Look at the Athens-Clarke County Center for Racial Justice and Black Futures on April 23, 2026, marking the project’s official public launch and “groundbreaking” moment.
The Center for Racial Justice and Black Futures is now under construction on the campus of The Classic Center.
