Located in downtown Athens, Georgia, inside the c.1820 Church-Waddel-Brumby House Museum, the Historic Athens Welcome Center is an excellent resource and first stop for visitors. You'll step back in time, find local gifts, access self-guided tour options around Athens, and can even reserve a tour guide. Also a great spot for Athens residents who are hosting out of town guests!

VISITOR INFORMATION CENTER

HOUSE MUSEUM
The Church-Waddel-Brumby House is one of Athens' four house museums. This Federal-style house, ca. 1820, is believed to be the city's oldest surviving residence. Its rescue from demolition and restoration in the early 1970s as a welcome center sparked the historic preservation movement in Athens.

HISTORIC ATHENS TOURS
- On the Walking Tour of Downtown and Historic North Campus, a professional tour guide leads guests along a meandering route through the streets of Downtown Athens and the University of Georgia’s Historic North Campus.
