Athens has long been charmed by its ginkgo trees. Starting in 2018, the Project Ginkgo mosaic project ensured that the distinctive leaves beautify the west end of Downtown year round. Local artist Krysia Ara completed the first 2019 installation, Shiny Bikes, at The National on Hancock Avenue. Its intricate tile and glass mosaics decorate an otherwise dreary concrete light pole base. Each unique leaf was created by pressing an actual ginkgo leaf into clay! Krysia invited community members and friends to help apply glazes that capture the characteristic hues. Look for at least two additional mosaics this spring. Project Ginkgo is funded by the Athens Downtown Development Authority

- Description We offer catered private events in CineLab, the arthouse cinema that shares our building. The customizable space can host a seated dinner for up to 65. We offer restaurant buy-outs on a limited basis, typically only on Sundays. We try to accommodate large groups in the dining room as best we can.
