Tree of Oneta

The "Tree of Oneta" is a towering, 12-foot tall kinetic sculpture created by local artist Steve Sweetser. Sweetser is a retired pipe-fitter who learned how to weld in the Army and has been creating sculptures over the past decade from repurposed material. Sweetser is not only an Athens native, but grew up in the very neighborhood (Boulevard) where the "Tree of Oneta" now stands.

The sculpture will gracefully twirl in the breeze, and may also be put into motion with a gently push of a pulley at the bottom.
