There are two kinds of people: those who love happy hour, and those who are wrong. If you belong to the first group, we have good news. We’ve done the research and found the ten best happy hours in Athens, Georgia.

SAUCEHOUSE

This casual Athens BBQ staple boasts happy hour Wednesday to Friday from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m., with all pitchers and towers half off, and all drinks $1 off! Saucehouse also offers weekend beer and bomb specials. We can’t tell you to get sauced, but you’ll definitely get saucy.

SOUTH KITCHEN + BAR

It’s simple math: half price is twice as nice. Grab a classic cocktail done right at 50% off between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday at South Kitchen’s classy Washington Street location. Think negronis, manhattans, vespers, and more. Enjoy your drinks in an award-winning spot with an ambiance that reflects its Georgian Hotel setting.

HOTEL INDIGO/MADISON BAR & BISTRO

Hotel Indigo’s happy hour may only last 60 minutes, but it packs a punch. Does 50% off house wine, draft beer, and a specialty cocktail (courtesy of the in-house masterminds at Madison Bar & Bistro) sound like something you want in your life? We thought so.

TRAPPEZE PUB

You may know Trappeze Pub as a craft beer paradise with laid-back vibes, but you may not know that they serve cocktails too. Between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 of them are only $8. You can also get $1 off canned local brews!

TED’S MOST BEST

It turns out that pizza pub Ted’s Most Best does happy hour most best, too. Every single day, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., you’ll get $1 off all draft beers and glasses of wine, $5 off wine bottles, as well as sliders and PBR for only $3. The high ceilings and large windows give off an airy feeling inside, or head out to the patio to enjoy a hot pizza and cold beer in the breeze.

THE PINE BAR

Five Points’ The Pine Bar offers $1 off oysters and select bottles of wine for $15, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. every day and 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Sundays. Raise a glass in this modern restaurant featuring a vibrant atmosphere set against a backdrop of pine-wood accents and locally sourced art.

FIVE BAR

FIVE Bar’s happy hour is simple yet awesome. Enjoy their rustic-chic vibe every day, between 4 and 6, when well spirits and drafts are half price, and glasses of wine are $2 off. Have a couple. You can’t afford not to.

BLIND PIG TAVERN

Sports fans will love Blind Pig Tavern’s downtown location. This neighborhood bar & grill offers revolving drink specials, with a different promotion Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Depending on the day, you’ll score $5 craft beer or a $6 bartender’s special that you can enjoy while watching the game! Eastside and Westside locations also offer rotating specials on weekdays between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

PAULEY’S ORIGINAL CRÊPE BAR

What’s that? You dream of a world where happy hour never ends? Monday through Wednesday, Pauley’s happy hour lasts all day, offering half-price wine and $1 off all cocktails and drafts. Pauley’s also crafts sweet and savory crêpes, from s’mores to caprese. Dreams do come true in this local hangout with lively vibes near UGA’s campus.

PALOMA PARK

No exhaustive list of Athens happy hours is complete without Paloma Park. Daily hours vary, but the specials remain the same at this trendy Tex-Mex spot: $6 pitchers of palomas, margaritas, and draft beer. Yes, $6. So cheap, they’re practically paying you to drink.

In Athens, it’s always happy hour somewhere, no matter what day it is. Get to it!
