This event is open to all elementary students in Northeast Georgia. Included are arts and crafts, traditions and histories of the 1800 – 1900’s, using the Ware-Lyndon Historic House Museum as our inspiration. Included will be demonstrations of what life was like in this period including candle making, letterpress, blacksmithing, wool spinning and more. Our partners, Sandy Creek Nature Center and UGA Extension will bring animals to visit with and we have special guest storytellers, musicians and a large diesel-powered toy train display this year.
The Harvest Festival is an excellent way for students to experience first-hand some of Georgia's history. We continue to provide this festival free of charge because we believe it is important for the youth of today to have a hands-on opportunity to learn about local history and traditions.
To register your class or school, please call Toni Carlucci at 706 613 3623
