Get in the groove with the Athens-based band, The Big Smooth at the Athens-Clarke County Library on Sunday, August 7, at 3:00 p.m.
The Big Smooth is a Blues/R&B band, with close ties to the Athens community. They perform original songs, as well as a wide range of popular R&B, oldies and blues covers, with a style similar to Bill Withers or Otis Redding. The band consists of guitarist and lead singer Tre Powell, percussionist Jonathan Herring, bass guitarist Tad Bremer, and lead guitarist Ken Paris. The band’s strong vocals and hypnotic instrument accompaniment, will entrance patrons and get them in the groove.
