ATHENS, GA (April 4, 2019) – The Piedmont Gardeners will host the 26th Annual Garden tour of Athens on Saturday, April 20.
A spring tradition in Athens, the Piedmont Gardeners’ tour showcases five distinctive private gardens. This tour is open to visitors for one day, rain or shine between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Tickets to the self-paced tour are $15 if purchased in advance from local businesses and $20 on the day of the tour. Tickets are now on sale at Cofer's Home and Garden Showplace, Goodness Grows Nursery in Lexington, Always, Always Flowers, The State Botanical Garden Gift Shop, Thomas Orchards and Nursery, Avid Bookshop (both locations) and Appointments at Five. This year’s featured gardens offer a wealth of inspiring design around extensive plant collections. Visitors will see a 200-year-old horse barn, a vintage street lamp salvaged from downtown Athens, samples of yard art created by the gardener, a bubbling fountain created from Turkish coral and, many unexpected garden vignettes that make you say, “I want to do that in MY garden!”
