ATHENS, GA – December 3, 2025 - The Classic Center and Akins Ford Arena are preparing for another holiday season filled with community traditions and seasonal experiences.

Visitors arriving at The Classic Center will first encounter Tinsel Trail, presented by Women in Construction and The Classic Center Cultural Foundation, where decorated trees from community businesses and organizations brighten the walkway leading to one of Downtown Athens’ most recognizable seasonal experiences, Athens On Ice.

As the region’s only ice-skating rink, Athens On Ice allows guests to glide into the holidays with festive treats, holiday décor, and special theme nights that encourage families and friends to create new seasonal traditions. The Classic Center and Akins Ford Arena’s holiday season also includes a lineup of notable performances and events, such as:

• Cirque Dreams Holidaze: A dazzling holiday spectacular on December 4 and 5, part of the 2025–2026 Broadway season in Athens.

• Athens Rock Lobsters Teddy Bear Toss: All teddy bears that are tossed onto the ice during this game on December 12 will be donated to local children's hospitals and charities.

• Athens Symphony Orchestra Christmas Concerts: A cherished community performance filled with classic holiday favorites, December 13 and 14.

• Christmas with John Berry: A beloved annual concert tradition from a hometown artist who has gone on to national success, returning for his 29th annual Christmas performance on December 18.

• The Nutcracker: A timeless holiday ballet brought to life with beauty and elegance, happening December 21.
