You’ll hear about the rich history of this college town, as well as its otherworldly inhabitants, like the ghost of a woman who weeps for her lost love, or the guests who checked into a hotel room and never checked out. Or perhaps you will catch the soft scent of a woman’s perfume on the night air. … A woman whose life ended much too soon.
With so many wonderful stories of hauntings in and around the Athens area, Jeff Clarke keeps the tour fresh and interesting for repeat guests!
Several years ago, Jeff Clarke began to dig a little deeper into Athens' history. He poured over police and newspaper reports, researched at the University of Georgia library, and talked to people in Downtown Athens. Clarke's research uncovered a vibrant afterlife filled with tales of love and loss.
Athens Haunted History Tours is the perfect marriage of Jeff’s love of history and storytelling. He combines these two passions with whimsy and theatrics, sure to engage audiences of all ages.
Jeff has appeared on several programs for the Discovery Network, The Travel Channel & GPB/ PBS. These tours are not just for Halloween fun; they're fun ANY time!
Tour Dates:
- During September, October, and November, tours are offered on a NIGHTLY basis.
- During other months, tours are offered Wednesday – Sunday.
- Please refer to the website's online calendar for tour dates and start times.
- Tours do not run on major holidays, during downtown festivals, or UGA football home games.
Advance reservations required. Weather permitting.

Location and Parking:
- Tours begin and end at Graduate Athens hotel, 295 E. Dougherty St.
- Parking is NOT permitted in The Graduate Hotel parking lot. Tour patrons can park on Dougherty Street where permitted or in the parking lot behind The Graduate Hotel on Hoyt Street, across from the Lay Park Community Center.
