Indie South

Indie South began in 2006 when designer and maker Serra Jaggar decided to become an even bigger part of the modern handmade movement by creating a platform for artists to sell their work in her adopted home of Athens, GA.  It quickly evolved into multiple events throughout the year, ranging from large festivals to more intimate pop-ups. As Indie South has grown, so has the vision behind it. The once in a while nature of the markets evolved into a year-round brick and mortar that includes workshops and gatherings. Throughout the years, one constant has remained: the community and sense of belonging fostered when people come together to appreciate craft and support small business. Indie South showcases the best independently made goods from around the Southeast and beyond. They are part of the New Southern Renaissance, a modern melting pot of innovators and traditionalists and they welcome you to join their community.
